The looks do not deceive: this is a very serious racing car, quicker by far than the vast majority of cars racing for real in national championships every weekend during the season. It’s powered by a Cosworth-tuned, 3-litre, V6 Jaguar engine whose 240bhp output sounds impressive only until you realise it’s in a car weighing just 765kg. That’s like putting an engine with 450bhp in a small family hatchback. It has slick tyres, a racing sequential gearbox and not just a wing on the back, but an entire body shaped to exploit the flow of air over its surface.

Sounds intimidating? Well don’t worry. You will have one of our highly trained instructors beside you, coaching you on when to accelerate, brake and change gear. If you want, you will be encouraged into the unknown where your body will be subjected to forces it does not recognise. But if you’d rather just cruise around, soaking up the sights and sounds of the extraordinary car, that’s just fine with us, too.
